AbitibiBowater studies $51M power generation project in Ontario
THUNDER BAY, ON, May 10, 2010 (TbNewsWatch) - A project being proposed by AbitibiBowater in Thunder Bay could see the mill producing more than 60 per cent of its own energy needs.
The company is looking to install a condensing turbine, associated generator and cooling tower to support existing electricity generation.

The company held an open house Wednesday on the Fort William First Nation, detailing the project. Doug Murray is the General Manager of Abitibi Bowater's Thunder Bay operations and he said the estimated cost of the project is $51-million.
